Cari Lekebusch's Transatlantic Thanksgiving

While everyone else was excitedly preparing for the weekend to start last Friday evening, Cari Lekebusch was only just ending his weekend. And by weekend, we mean the kind of weekend that last a whole week rather than the regulation two days. In fact, all told his recent three date US mini-tour lasted a marathon nine days, taking in shows in Chicago, New York and Miami; the details of which were previewed by Resident Advisor prior to the Swedish techno icon starting his transatlantic voyage.
Cari's own snapshots of his time in Chicago, New York and Miami
Of course what goes up (or left, in the case) must come down (right) and while the good people of the USA were giving thanks for what 2012 has delivered thus far, Cari was being thrust back across the Atlantic Ocean, en-route from the golden sun and sand of Miami to the slate-grey cold of Stockholm. While spending 10+ hours in his own company, Cari found the time to note down some of the tracks he felt had delivered the most for him during his time in America. You can see the selection for yourself on Cari's Beatport DJ Profile

If you do check out the chart then you will notice, tucked away at number four, a Cari Lekebuch remix of Hugo Paixao's track Rat Man. Released this week on The Advent's Kombination Research imprint, the cavernous and ever-so-slightly off kilter rework has been proving popular for Joseph Capriati, Stephan Bodzin, Alan Fitzpatrick, Marco Bailey, Sasha Carassi and Luigi Madonna; as well as Beatport customers whose support has propelled the remix to an elevated position in the Techno Top 50 within just seven days of release. You can listen to a full length stream of the remix on the Kombination Research Soundcloud

Cari won't be performing any shows this weekend as he summons energy for the final month of the year and an exciting schedule of gigs that will have him perform in Athens, Basel, Amsterdam, Muenster, Berlin and Ghent. Details of exactly where Cari will be playing in December can be found on his newly launched GigaTools page. For those who also plan to stay home this weekend and find themselves scratching about the internet for entertainment, we recommend checking out Cari's DataTransmission podcast that went online this week. The mix contains new music from Adam Beyer, Jasper Dahlback, Alexi Delano, Alan Fitzpatrick, Par Grindvik and Gary Beck amongst others and is complimented by a short interview with Cari.
